Development Fund of Georgia was visited by an official delegation of the world’s largest Chinese export & credit insurance corporation SINOSURE, Sinosure. The delegation, which was on a business visit to Georgia, was hosted by the Fund’s management.
Besik Bugianishvili, Executive Director of the Development Fund of Georgia, introduced the delegation to the institutional changes and current activities implemented in the Fund as a result of the reform. He also reviewed the current investment environment and favorable business climate in Georgia; he emphasized Georgia’s strategic role in the development of the Silk Road and related economic processes.
In turn, the representatives of the Sinosure delegation spoke about the changes implemented in Sinosure over the past five years and noted that these changes will further contribute to the common goal of the Development Fund of Georgia and Sinosure to deepen trade, economic and investment cooperation between the two countries through joint efforts.
Dimitri Khorava, Director of the Fund’s Investment Department, provided the official Sinosure delegation with information about the Fund’s investment priorities and strategic directions, as well as the conditions for the Fund’s participation in investment projects.
In order to attract direct investments in important sectors in Georgia, the parties discussed the strategy for moving to a new stage of cooperation and discussed specific investment directions, namely: export-oriented production, high technologies, and renewable energies. The Chinese side is ready to provide assistance in attracting Chinese investments to Georgia. The parties agreed to establish joint initiative groups to attract investments in Georgia and develop high-tech production capabilities.
