The Executive Director of the Development Fund of Georgia, Besik Bugianishvili, the Director of the subsidiary company Startup Georgia, Giorgi Lomidze, and the Director of the subsidiary company "Rukhi Trade Center," Davit Machavariani, met with representatives of USAID and the international organization CNFA.
At the meeting, the head of the Development Fund of Georgia spoke to the representatives of USAID and CNFA about the changes implemented in the Fund as a result of the reform, its investment priorities, and strategic directions.
USAID has several years of fruitful cooperation with Startup Georgia. Since 2019, Startup Georgia has, together with USAID, opened five innovative enterprises near the occupied administrative boundary line.
The cooperation program aimed at financing new enterprises and launching innovative businesses. The joint investment allowed the local population to engage in innovation-driven business activities, contributed to regional development, and created job opportunities.
The international organization CNFA implements various projects in 47 countries worldwide. Startup Georgia aims to promote foreign investments in Georgia by co-financing businesses at their early development stages. Under the memorandum signed between CNFA and Startup Georgia, co-financing of innovative, start-up businesses is planned in the near future in communities near the occupied boundary line.
