The first ultra-modern, high-tech radiopharmaceutical enterprise in Georgia – a joint project of the Development Fund of Georgia and the Georgian company Novatek International, as a result of which, using a cyclotron-type accelerator, the production of radioactive isotopes will begin on site.
The radioactive isotope is used in such cutting-edge technology as positron emission tomography (PET-CT), which, compared to other tomographic examinations, can detect oncological diseases even when no clinical manifestations are observed. In addition, it allows for high-precision differentiation of benign and malignant tumors; accordingly, it ensures the early diagnosis and correct treatment of a number of diseases.
The investment volume of the project is 9 million euros, of which the participation of the Development Fund of Georgia is 1.8 million euros.
